When we talk about innovative companies, I believe that almost always, they come to mind. We always talk about the cases of darlings Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, however, there are other companies that also stand out in this regard.
In this week’s podcast, our CEO, Pedro Waengertner, along with our ACErs, Miguel Nahas and Ignacio Franganillo, talk about innovative companies "not so obvious". Along with the non-obviousness, there are also the good results and performances that they have in the market - some of them, even, grew a lot during the pandemic.
But what makes an innovative company?
Passionate about the innovation we are, we have already had this debate here, some - good - times. But in short, an innovative company, basically focuses on resolve a customer's real pain. In addition to merging a strong strategy - long-term vision - with its culture - which is also a very strong factor.
Innovation does not always come with a big break. Sometimes, rethinking some processes and channels, already show an innovation process in the company.
Innovation: everything you need to know so you don't go wrong!
Some innovative companies:
One of the companies mentioned in the podcast is Canva. Whoever works with social media, knows how practical, friendly and delivers what is proposed. For those who don't know, Canva is - just like its founder says - a design tool, for non-designers. Founded in Australia by Melanie Perkins, the tool quickly became a huge success.
What do innovative companies have in common?
Your idea of "democratize" access and knowledge to graphic design platforms, met real pain in the market. After all, some time ago, the activities in the area were still very niche. Only those who knew how to handle software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign were able to get the job done, and on top of that, many of these tools are not very intuitive and friendly.
How to create business in an innovative way?
In addition to ease, Canva is a collaborative platform, where you can easily share projects with people on your team (yes, you can set up teams there) and make changes, animations and include images and videos without a headache.
Another platform mentioned in the episode is the Twiich - well known in the world of gamers. Purchased by Amazon in 2014, the platform is the main platform when it comes to streaming games - where a person plays online and fans of the game, can follow live, making comments and interacting with other participants. It’s a very exclusive product for this niche, but nowadays, many channels are monetized by the platform (just like on YouTube).
